The team of the Institute for the Development of Legal Education and Civil Society is pleased to present a report on the functioning of youth councils during the coronavirus pandemic. The publication was presented for the first time on May 26 at the Belvedere, during a meeting of the Youth Council of the National Development Council. The creation of the report was preceded by a survey of the state of youth councils in Poland at all levels of local government.

Physical copies of the report were handed out to members of the Youth Council and invited guests attending the meeting. Among them was Piotr Mazurek, Secretary of State in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister, Government Plenipotentiary for Youth Policy. Council members received with interest the theses of the report on issues such as tenure and the model of action during a pandemic, among others. Voices in the debate also addressed the issue of electoral law in the case of the election of youth councilors at the municipal level.

The report was compiled by the Institute’s team led by Jan Zapolski-Downar, who is academically involved in the issue of youth councils and youth public participation. A downloadable version of the report can be found below.
